Founders Classical Academy of Leander

The oldest ideas for the youngest minds.

An Introduction to Our School

In the spring of 2019, a film crew from Hillsdale College's Barney Charter School Initiative spent a few days on campus talking with students, parents and faculty about Founders Classical Academy and what sets us apart from a traditional public school. This short video beautifully captures the spirit and heart of our school.

Upcoming Events

February 3-March 12, Senior Thesis Presentations

At Founders Classical Academy, the senior thesis is the culmination of a student’s classical education and a rite of passage to a life of virtue and self-government. The student’s thesis is focused on a book from the curriculum and serves as a capstone project, one which brings together the things a student has learned during his or her time at the school.

Please take an hour one afternoon this spring to listen to one of our seniors talk about the book they have chosen to write on and what they have learned in high school. Senior thesis presentations are one of the best ways to see what is possible when students receive a classical education in high school.

Please click here to download the Senior Thesis Defense Schedule. The information is also provided on our public calendar.

February 6, Application Specifics and the Senior Year - for Juniors and their Parents

Formerly known as Junior Parent Night, Junior parents & students are requested to attend a presentation on senior year traditions and the role of rising seniors and their families in continuing these traditions. Also, Kendall Guess will present on the specifics of College Applications. This presentation will include timelines, what type of application to use, and what happens after you hit “submit”. This presentation is for Juniors and their parents.

February 13, Hearts & Roses Ball

The Fine Arts Boosters (FAB) and the high school fine arts students invite you to the Hearts & Roses Ball on Thursday, February 13 from 6:00-9:30pm. Doors open at 5:45pm for check-in. Dinner seating is limited.

The dance will begin at 7:00pm in the building 1 gym. This is a family dance and all students K-12th must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian.
