Ms. Barbara Long
Ms. Long was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is the 4th of 6 children in her family. She grew up in California, Oregon, and Tucson, Arizona, then entered the United States Navy. Her travels took her throughout North America, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Marianas Islands. Upon retirement with 21 years in the service she received an honorable discharge as a Disabled Veteran and landed in Round Rock, Texas in 1997 with her two children to visit family and decided to stay.
She began a new career with the state of Texas as human resources assistant then on to disability determinations, community care programs, then automation as a software tester for the states social services programs. She also worked (part-time) for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from 2004 - 2009 then again in 2016. After 15 years with the state Ms. Long decided to take a step back and pursue other options. Ms. Long enjoys spending time with her grandson, sewing, reading and when time permits, traveling.
